SQL 2008 R2 SP1 - Installation of the New Named Instance

Hello!

We have a SQL Server 2008 R2 with the default instance which has SP1 and CU6 installed on it. I need to create a new named instance. What order I should use in order to install it, i.e. use SQL Server 2008 R2 to create it and configure and then apply SP1 and CU to it or different? Would you be so kind to specify, please?
