Install SQL 2008 R2 on Win 8 fails with Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.Sco.ScoException

Hello SQL Gurus

I'm trying to install SQL 2008 R2 on Win 8 Enterprise edition. I see other posts that I need to install SP1 or SP2 also, but 2008 R2 itself is failing with exception,Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.Sco.ScoException.

I looked at other posts, so I did "winmgmt /verifyrepository", it said, "WMI repository is consistent".

While install it gave the following error dialog box,

And also here is the log file, any idea what could be happening?
